Consultation / examination and treatment which may include functional medicine (blood work, nutrition evaluation / discussion / fertility evaluations may fall into this category); Acupuncture and TCM (Meridian therapy to include but not limited to use of acupuncture needles, lasers, cupping, press seeds or tacks and herbal therapies); .Chiropractic manipulative therapy (adjusting - manual, drop table or instrument assisted) along with recommendations for strengthening / stretching / balance exercises to include McKenzie Therapy /Yoga Therapeutics and possible dry needling / acupuncture as an adjunct. Craniosacral therapy / visceral manipulation is a slow gentle manipulation of the bones, soft tissues and viscera to alleviate pain and improve function.


CHILD Visit (15 years old and younger)

Evaluation of movement patterns and blood work with recommendations for well child care including chiropractic, physical medicine, acupuncture and meridian therapy such as tui na, tei shin, shoni shin, moxibustion or needling, along with nutrition, blood or lab work evaluations, diet and lifestyle recommendations.

Dr. Tohtz graduated magna cum laude from the National University of Health Sciences in April 2001. While attending chiropractic school, she also began working toward a diplomate in Acupuncture and in August 2009 received her Diplomate in Acupuncture from the American Chiropractic Association’s Council on Chiropractic Acupuncture (CCA) of which she sat on the board over 8 years in various positions and now helps coordinate educational efforts for the group as President Emeritus. After attending two supervised medical internships in Beijing and Hangzhou, China, she found advanced studies to be warranted and and obtained her Master’s of Science in Acupuncture (MsAc) through the National University of Health Sciences graduating summa cum laude in August 2014.

In April 2009, Dr. Tohtz also completed an advanced certification in Pregnancy and Pediatric care through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. She is a certified placenta encapuslator though Placenta Benefits, certified in Mercier Therapy (visceral manipulation for pelvic pain, trauma and fertility enhancement), and is a trained post- partum doula. She teaches not only to physicians for continuing education on the topics of acupuncture, pregnancy and pediatric care, but she also teaches to various organizations and disciplines within the United States. Dr. Tohtz has been featured on WGN radio discussing health issues and is an international lecturer for the Global Women.Co.

As a Certified Yoga Instructor through the Temple of Kriya Yoga, Dr. Tohtz uses yoga and meditation as a part of her treatment options for patients. She is also a certified hypnotherapist through the National Guild of Hypnotherapy and uses those skills and Heartmath to assist with such issues as IBS, stress reduction, fear and phobia treatment and smoking cessation.

The combination of all of these healing arts is paired in a unique way for each patient for their optimal treatment, rehabilitation and general stress management. So that she may offer the most cutting edge treatment options for her patients, Dr. Tohtz attends numerous continuing education courses in rehabilitation, yoga, nutritional therapies, comprehensive evaluation of blood work, acupuncture, cranial sacral therapy and visceral manipulation, Chinese medicine and body work in various forms to name a few. She is currently completed her certification through the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFMCP) on May 2021.

Dr. Tohtz served as an instructor in the department of Chiropractic Practice and as a staff clinician at the National University of Health Sciences for 4 years after she graduated. She continued to teach Pregnancy and Pediatric care as well as Acupuncture through the University’s Post Graduate Education Department until 2019. For three years she served as an Assistant Professor and Director of the School Of Emerging Education at Oak Point (formerly Resurrection) University where she not only founded and ran the department but she also lectured on various topics within the school - including functional medicine, nutrition, dry needling, acupuncture, integrative pregnancy and pediatric care.

Presently Dr. Tohtz has relocated to southern Florida to be closer to her family. She also continues to lecture in various postgraduate departments and state associations while maintaining her private practice.
